Gregatron's POTW: AT&T Byron Nelson

The PGA Tour jumps two hoots and a holler down the road to Dallas, Texas for the AT&T Byron Nelson. The iconic event memorializes the late Byron Nelson, famous for winning 18 times in a season before retiring to his ranch to live out his life in peace. This week’s field includes a host of storylines, especially given that it’s the week before the PGA Championship. Can Jordan return to form ahead of the second major? Can Tony Romo make the cut and show that professional athletes can play multiple sports? We’ll know by Sunday as the sun sets on a second year venue, Trinity Forest Golf Club. The links style course is sure to trip up a number of players, but expect a lot of birdies. Last year’s champion, Aaron Wise, shot 23 under par. There weren’t any snakes in his boots.

Gregatron’s Pick of the Week: Jordan Spieth

This is a gut pick, but our man Jordan is bound to turn things around. He’s made 4 cuts in a row coming into this week with two top-25s. Stellar? No. Consistent? No. He only has 3 top-25s in this event, but it’s the site of his first tour start in 2010. Behind the scenes, I feel like Jordan is pulling his game together. Don’t be surprised if the hometown boy makes some noise on Sunday.

Back to the Range Bro: Padraig Harrington

The Irishman continues a celebrity player schedule, notching his 5th start of the season. He’s only made one cut (the other Texas event) and is losing 0.6 strokes to the field each round. Mr. Scrambles is always fun to watch, but I don’t think another comeback is in the cards this week. Get along lil’ Padraig. Get along.
